Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the country's first water metro service in Kerala
Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the state's first Bande Bharat Express in Kerala. He also inaugurated the country's first water metro service in the state today. Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of the Digital Science Park in Thiruvananthapuram.
The Prime Minister first arrived at Thiruvananthapuram station at 11 am and flagged off the Bande Bharat Express between Thiruvananthapuram and Kacharagod. The train will cover 11 districts like Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kacharagod.
He also inaugurated the railway electrification of Dindigul-Palani-Pallakkad branch. The country's first digital science park project in Thiruvananthapuram has a total cost of Rs 1,515 crore.
In the first phase, Rs 200 crore will be spent for this. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the country's first water metro service. The Water Metro, built in the port city of Kochi, will connect the city of Kochi with 10 nearby islands.
