India will not become a 'Vishwaguru' if our people continue to fight amongst themselves - CM Arvind Kejriwal

NE Post, New Delhi: During a special session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, a discussion took place on Thursday in the House regarding the Manipur violence. In this discussion, BJP legislators walked out of the assembly without participating. In his address, Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal demanded accountability by PM Modi. Shri Arvind Kejriwal questioned the deafening silence of the PM over pressing matters of the greater national interest. Shri Arvind Kejriwal expressed his concerns over tragic issues of violence, and destitution in Manipur. “People of Manipur are watching us and they must have been devastated by seeing BJP MLAs walking out of the legislative assembly. It is a clear message by the BJP and PM Modi that they don't care about Manipur,” he stated.

He also spoke on the issues of border disputes with China and frailing diplomacy of the Central Government against China.

During discussions over Manipur Violence in Delhi Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal emphasized the need of addressing the issue by the Prime Minister. Earlier BJP MLAs walked out of the Legislative Assembly. Shri Arvind Kejriwal stated that the people of Manipur are watching us and they must have been devastated by seeing BJP MLAs walking out of the legislative assembly. It is a clear message by the BJP and PM Modi that they don't care about Manipur.

"Since Manipur Violence broke out the PM is quiet, 6500 FIRs have been lodged within 90-100 days. Approximately 4000 houses have been burnt, and 60000 people have lost their shelters. There were 150 individuals who lost their lives, and 350 places of worship were burnt. Skirmishes broke out between Central forces and local Police which brought disgrace to the dignity of our country. The European Parliament and American Parliamentarians discussed the matter but the PM was silent. The day video went viral of the tragic incident in which two women were paraded naked and a mob molested them, the PM was still silent. Manipur CM Shri Viren Singh said it's happening every day here", Shri Arvind Kejriwal stated.

CM Arvind Kejriwal asked for accountability by the PM on the Manipur issue. He stated, "A PM of the country is like a father to the nation, people don't ask for the PM's intervention in daily lives, they ask when there is no other way. It all failed for those women who were paraded naked, and the PM is like a father to them by age and duties."

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal quoted a video posted by a retired army officer from Manipur, who had been tweeting in praise of PM Modi for years. The Chief Minister stated that the retired Army Officer was crying, he couldn't believe that the PM abandoned them in turmoil.

"The BJP leaders have been stating that PM Modi is the only PM who has visited the North East 50 times in the last 9 years. A friend in need is a friend indeed, when tough times came for Manipur the PM shut his doors. The nation wants to know the reasons for the deafening silence of PM Modi on the Manipur issue. This is not happening for the first time in the last 9 years. Whenever there was any adversity in the nation, the PM has always left the ground", CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal added.

On the issues of sexual allegations against the WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan by female wrestlers, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal questions the ignorance of PM Modi. "When the female wrestler(Sakshi Malik) came to India after winning an Olympic Medal the PM was the first to take photographs. In a video the PM assured his support in tough times to these wrestlers, but when these daughters said that they have been assaulted by the WFI President, the PM is silent. At least, the PM could have assured them of justice, the PM could have appealed for peace in Manipur. The PM ignored such delicate matters. The female wrestlers were eager to listen to the PM regarding their grievances, but the wrestlers had to go to the Supreme Court to register an FIR.

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal expressed his concerns over the PM's silence on the matter of border security. He said China is threatening India at their will, but the PM doesn't utter 'China' let alone deal with them. The Prime Minister was touring Tamil Nadu's Mahabalipuram temple in October 2019 with the Chinese President while holding each other's hands. On 15th June 2020, the Chinese army killed 20 soldiers in the Galwan Valley. The Chinese military captured a huge area of 2000 square km which is 1.5 times larger than Delhi. Rumour has it that the PM has granted the captured area to the Chinese in a secret deal.

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal also expressed his concerns over border disputes with China. He quoted the External Affairs Minister’s statement of February 2023. The Chief Minister declared it disgraceful. The External Affairs Minister said 'China is a bigger economy, what am I going to do? As a smaller economy, I'm going to pick up the fight against a bigger economy. It's not a question of being reactionary, it's a question of common sense. In reaction to this statement, many army veterans criticized the External Affairs Minister's statement. Retired Major General Shail Jha tweeted, 'Mr. Jaishankar should know it's not India but China is picking up the fight. Economy or no economy, we are abandoning our self-respect. Is it acceptable? What a shame! It's cowardice.

"The BJP always curses former PM Jawahar Lal Nehru, but at least he fought with the Chinese valiantly. The BJP has surrendered the country to the Chinese. The Chinese have captured an area of 2000 square, and the BJP-led Central Government has rewarded them. In 2018-19 India had a trade of 87 billion dollars with China, in 2022-33 it has risen to 114 billion dollars. I want to ask people of the country 'Which kind of PM do you prefer? A trader, businessman or a PM who upholds the dignity and sovereignty of the country. Everybody wants to know why the PM is quiet. We import lots of goods from China, what if we cancel the imports? I want to ask the PM to show some eyes to the Chinese. Holding hands and visiting temples can only form romantic relations, not diplomatic ones. Diplomacy would need you to show some temper", Shri Arvind Kejriwal stated.

"The Hindenburg report came out in January and it created an outrage worldwide. The BSE(Bombay Stock Exchange) got destroyed, lakhs of investors lost their money, LIC lost great fortune, and banks lost significant amounts but the PM decided to keep quiet. At Least, he could have assured the country of a free and fair investigation of the matter, he could have tweeted that he would bring the culprits to justice. Now, people have realized that Adani's money is Modi's money, otherwise, why is he silent? Citizens want to know the truth because the silence of the PM harbours rumours and it's not good for the country", Shri Arvind Kejriwal stated.

On the loan waiver of 13 lakh crores of a few billionaires in the 9 years CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal asked the PM for the clarity. "They have fled Nirav Modi, Vijay Mallya, Mehul Choksi Central Government has issued several notices against Manish Sisodiya but they didn't care in Nirav Modi, Vijay Mallya and Mehul Choksi's case. India wants to know from the PM, what kind of relations or deals you have with these bankrupts!"

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal further cited a recently released RBI report which states that there are 16000 willful defaulters(those who have money to pay back) in the country.

Why does the PM not put these defaulters behind bars, no CBI, no ED for them? People of the country want to know the deal between them and the PM.

Expressing his concern over various pressing issues in the country Shri Arvind Kejriwal asked for accountability by the PM. He stated, “The son of the Central Minister crushed the farmers with his Jeep in Lakhimpur Kheri, everyone has seen the video but the PM was silent. In Hathras, a Dalit girl was gang-raped by 4 men but the PM is silent. In Haryana's Nuh, Sohna and Gurugram violence broke out between two communities, the whole world looked down on us but the PM was still silent. In his speech the PM accused a few leaders of 17000 crore rupees corruption after 3 days he inducted them into his party. The CAG report illustrates corruption pertaining to the Dwarka-Expressway project but the PM is silent. Now, it's being discussed if PM Modi is a weak, arrogant and corrupt Prime Minister."

In his address, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal appealed to the PM on behalf of the House, to speak up on the issues of Manipur and take necessary interventions to bring back normalcy in the state.
