Mizoram Assembly Elction Results 2023


NE Post, Digital: The Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) is all set to form government, having already won 25 seats and leading in two others. The counting of votes for 40 seats Mizoram Assembly Election 2023 started on Monday (December 4) morning.
Till 1:45 PM, the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) has won seven seats and is leading in three others. BJP has won two seats, while Congress is leading in one seat. Several MNF senior leaders are either trailing or have already lost. While, Chief Minister Zoramthanga is trailing behind ZPM's Lalthansanga in the Aizawl East-1 seat, ZPM's Chief Ministerial candidate Lalduhoma has won the Serchhip seat.
The Assembly Elections in Mizoram was conducted in a single-phased manner on November 7 and over 80% polling was recorded. A total of 174 candidates, including 18 women, were in the fray. The MNF, ZPM and Congress contested 40 seats each, while the BJP fielded candidates in 23 seats. 17 Independent candidates also contested in the election.
Along with Mizoram, four other states had gone for polls last month. The election results of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Telangana Assembly Elections were declared on Sunday. The BJP is set to form government in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, while the Congress has secured an majority in Telangana.
