Digital Desk:
At least 29 people have died as a result of a fatal fire that started on Tuesday during renovations at a nightclub in Istanbul, according to sources and officials. A number of people, including management of the clubs, have been arrested and will be questioned. According to the governor's office in Istanbul, one person is presently undergoing medical attention as a result of the incident.

The nightclub Masquerade, which is housed on the ground and basement floors of a 16-story residential building in Istanbul's European district of Besiktas, was closed for renovations at the time of the incident. Speaking on the scene, Governor Davut Gul stated that while investigations are still on to ascertain the cause of the fire, signs suggest that individuals engaged in the renovation work may have been the victims.

Five people, including club managers and the person in charge of the modifications, have been taken into custody to be questioned, according to Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc.

To guarantee the building's safety, authorities are thoroughly inspecting the entire structure, as Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu stressed. To handle the issue, numerous fire and medical personnel were sent to the location.
