Two Candidates' Nominations for the Guwahati Lok Sabha Constituency Were Canceled

Digital Desk: On Monday, April 22, the Assamese Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) declared that the nominations of two candidates from the Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency have been withdrawn.Eight of the ten candidates who submitted nomination papers for the Guwahatu Lok Sabha seat have had their papers deemed genuine for the third round of the Lok Sabha elections, according to a statement released by CEO Assam.
Arpita Choudhury, an independent, and Bharatiya National Janata Dal candidate Nayan Das had their nominations revoked.
The scrutiny was completed on Saturday 2 and the deadline for filing nomination papers for the third phase of the election was April 19.
Following examination, eight Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency nomination papers were determined to be legitimate. They are as follows:
- Bijuli Kalita Medhi - Bharatiya Janta Party
- Mira Borthakur Goswami - Indian National Congress
- Samad Choudhury - Bharatiya Gana Parishad
- Chejan Goyary - Bahujan Mahaparty
- Amitabh Sarma - Ekam Sanatan Bharat Dal
- Deepak Kumar Boro - Voters Party International
- Kazi Nekib Ahmed - Independent Candidate
- Colonel Gokul Chandra Singh - Independent Candidate
