BCCI has Set New Guidelines for Indian Cricket Players, Prohibiting Wives from Staying for the duration of a Tour.

Digital Desk:
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued new rules for Indian players following a humiliating thumping in the home Test series against New Zealand and a 1-3 loss in the away series against Australia. The wives of Indian players would not be permitted to stay for the whole of the trip, according to a recent article in Dainik Jagran, which was made during a review meeting with BCCI officials, captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Gautam Gambhir, and top selector Ajit Agarkar.

The pre-Covid rule will be reinstated by the BCCI. During the entire tour, wives and family members would not be permitted to accompany the Indian team's players. The wife or family may only stay with the player for 14 days during a tournament or series that lasts longer than 45 days. The stay cap will be lowered to seven days for shorter visits, though.

The spouses of a number of cricket players, including Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, were spotted at every match in the just finished series against Australia.

The board believes that the presence of family members during the entire tour is having an adverse effect on the players' performance.

Additionally, it has been stated that the team van will be the only means of transportation for all Indian players. Many players have favoured travelling alone in recent years, but that will no longer be the case. Every player, regardless of size, will have to ride the team bus together.

All players will now exclusively ride the team bus in order to maintain team cohesion. The article stated that a player, regardless of his size, would not be permitted to go alone.

Along with the players, the BCCI has also made the decision to bar the management of India's head coach, Gautam Gambhir, from lodging at the team hotel. He has been prohibited from using the team bus and will not be permitted to watch the games from the VIP box.
