BARBIE ,ONE OF THE VICTIM SILHAKU EVICTION : ACHIVE STAR IN 10TH SEBA EXAM.
Jyotirmoy Hazarika, NE Post: Barbie Saikia, a young girl from a poor background, recently achieved a commendable 76% in her 10th SEBA examination. However, her success story is marred by a tragic incident. Barbie was one of the victims of the infamous Guwahati Shilhaku eviction, which resulted in the loss of homes and properties for numerous individuals. Assam's Chief Minister had assured that the evicted people would be provided with government land, but unfortunately, this promise remains unfulfilled.
Barbie's own experience was devastating. On the day of the eviction, while she was engrossed in her studies, she witnessed her dream home being demolished by a bulldozer. Overwhelmed by grief, she was admitted to a hospital, where she lost all her books, notes, and study materials. With nowhere to go, she sought shelter at her uncle's house and resorted to using test paper notes to continue her education.
Hailing from an impoverished family, Barbie's father earns a meager income from a small grocery shop, struggling to support his family. Faced with these challenges, Barbie now appeals to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma to fulfill the promise made to the evicted individuals. She hopes that by receiving the support she needs, she can excel academically and realize her dreams.
Barbie Saikia's story is a testament to the resilience and determination of individuals who face adversity. It serves as a reminder of the importance of providing assistance to those in need, particularly in fulfilling promises that can change lives and help them achieve their aspirations.
